Classic Southern Chicken and Dumplings

You Will Need

4 cups chicken broth

3 cups shredded chicken

10 frozen buttermilk biscuits 

1 cup cream

1 can sweet peas

1 can carrots

1 tsp Our Italian seasoning

1 tsp garlic salt

1 1/2 tsp greek seasoning

     I grew up on classic southern chicken and dumplings. It’s one of my husband's all-time favorite comfort food meals. Mine too! This easy chicken and dumplings recipe is my favorite go-to recipe because the soup is so creamy, thick and full of flavor and the buttermilk biscuits dumplings are so fluffy and delicious! It's so incredibly easy to make too!!

Directions

  • Cut Biscuits in Quarters,

  • add 4 cups chicken broth to your instant pot.

  • Then add quartered biscuits and chicken to your instant pot, make sure dumplings are covered in broth.

  • Set Instant pot on sealing and not venting. 

  • Then manual high pressure 8 minutes and do an instant release

  • when your pressure valve goes down.  Open the lid and add cream, peas, carrots, and seasonings,

Stir until desired thickness.

 

NOTE: If you don't want it as thick, add 1 more cup of broth.
